Acer Iconia A500 Docking Station & Remote
Tablets are often used for doing online tasks like email, web browsing and the occassional YouTube video. But can you watch feature-length movies with your tablet? With the Acer Iconia A500, you can.
Acer’s Iconia A500 comes with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, which is hardly enough for video watching (exept when you’re on a plane, perhaps). The dock and remote accessory will make movie-watching easier, though.
The docking station will have HDMI output so you can hook up the Iconia to your big-screen TV. It will also come with a remote so you can easily control video playback. We suppose this is best for watching online or streaming video content.
The Acer Iconia docking station also puts the tablet at an angle, so you can watch videos on the tablet computer itself. But watching movies on a 10.1-inch screen can cause a bit of a strain on the eyes (trust us!). The Iconia actually has a mini-HDMI port for outputting videos, though, so the docking station’s only advantage is the remote control and the positioning of the tablet.
