Logitech Begins Rolling Out Latest Software Update for Revue Google TV
Logitech has announced the latest software update for the Revue Google TV. According to the details posted so far, the update has already begun rolling out and should make its way to all Revue users no later than Monday May 2nd.

That of course sounds like good news, except, while maybe good this update is not quite as exciting as what Logitech offered last time. And if you remember back, the Revue Google TV was updated back in December of last year and given goodies such as Dual View and the improvements to the Netflix app.
Needless to say, while maybe not as exciting, security fixes are a good thing to receive and that is what this update contains. In fact, it seems that is all this update contains. According to Logitech;
“This software update applies security fixes.”
Otherwise, those who have (and are still using their) Revue Google TV will either have the update automatically applied or receive an update notification.
“Your Logitech Revue will display a message when the update is available to you for download and installation. If you are not using your Logitech Revue when the message is displayed, the update will automatically be installed after 30 minutes of the message being displayed with no response.”
And lastly, for those wondering which version of the software they are using and what the latest is, just head to Applications -> Settings -> About and look for the Build Number. The latest and the one you want to see will end in “b51795.”
With that, while we may poke fun at the Google TV a little bit, that comes only because we truly like the idea. Sadly though, the Google TV boxes do not seem to be doing as well as some would have hoped. Me personally, I would much rather go with either a Roku or Boxee Box at this point.
