HTC Doubleshot Specs & Features Get Leaked Ahead Launch

The HTC Doubleshot is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that we saw in a previous leak a few days ago, but now we have more hardware details for this upcoming handset.

It looks like the ROM of the device has been torn apart and inside people found valuable information about the Doubleshot’s upcoming specs and features and it seems we are indeed in the presence of an upcoming 3D Android smartphone. But let’s take a look at those specs and features first:

• 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display with 3D support
• 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor
• Adreno 220 GPU
• 768MB RAM
• HSDPA Category 10 support (download speeds of up to 14.4Mbps)
• HSUPA Category 6 (upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbps)
• 8-megapixel camera with 720p/1080p 3D video recording and 720p/1080p 2D recording
• VGA front-facing camera
• Bluetooth 3.0
• 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz/5GHz
• FM Radio
• Dual microphone support for noise cancellation
• QWERTY keyboard (according to previous rumors)
• Android 2.3 Gingerbread

When reading the above one can only assume the Doubleshot will be a more than interesting device. In fact it would seem that the Doubleshot will be the first handset in the world to come with 1080p 3D video recording support which means mobile 3D video recording is getting a more serious business.

Personally I am not that thrilled about 3D picture-taking and video-recording in the first place, especially with a smartphone, but there’s certainly a segment of the population that will enjoy such features in future handsets.

Getting back to the Doubleshot, we’re yet to have the specs and features list above confirmed by HTC and there’s no telling when the Taiwan-based company will actually announce this baby. Word on the street is that we could be looking at the myTouch 4G Slide here, and this baby could hit T-Mobile stores in the near future, all you need to do is wait for everything to become official.
