Amazon Kindle 3G & DX Now Available As A Mothers Day Special

Amazon seems prepared for Mother’s Day this year, which for those who may have forgotten is coming up rather quickly — it is May 8th. But the date aside, Amazon has announced a special offer for those looking to purchase a Kindle 3G or a Kindle DX.

At present the offer does not include the Kindle Wi-Fi, or the Kindle with Special Offers. As for the prices, they are the same. Yup, Amazon is offering a Mother’s Day special on the Kindle 3G and Kindle DX and neither device is discounted. That said, what they are offering is a $25 Amazon Gift Card. Basically, buy the Kindle 3G for $189 or the Kindle DX for $379 and get a $25 gift card to spend at Amazon.

Of course, this offer may present some with an interesting dilemma. Once you buy the Kindle and get your Amazon Gift Card — Should you give that to your mom along with the Kindle? Or should you make her buy her own books? We know what the proper way to go would be, give it to mom.

Then again, this is also a rather nice deal for someone who simply wants to purchase a Kindle. After all, a $25 gift card would allow for a few books to get started with, maybe two or three depending on the prices. Or as many as 25 if you are going the Kindle Singles route. Then again there is always the accessories such as cases and lights.

Bottom line, Amazon has this sale available from now until May 8th — how you decide to gift it out becomes your responsibility. And lastly, one word of caution — from the way we see it, you will need to check the little box next to “Add a $25 Amazon.com Gift Card at no extra cost” which is just below the Add to Cart and Buy now with 1-Click buttons to actually get the gift card.
