Verizon Confirms Droid Charge Delay, Blames It On "Unexpected Delays"

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network Issues Result In The Delay Of The Samsung Droid Charge Release

As many have already seen, Verizon had been having issues with their 4G LTE network and while that by itself was bad news for those in a 4G covered area — it appears as if this will have another unintended side effect — the Droid Charge was expected to be released today.

Of course, as some will remember, today was supposed to be a big release day for Verizon with the Droid Charge as well as the Droid Incredible 2, the Casio C’zOne Commando and even the white iPhone 4. Well, needless to say, the Verizon website was updated early this morning and only three of those four handsets came available for purchase. I am sure you can likely guess the handset that was not added.

Anyway, that by itself lead to speculation of the delay. Of course a 4G LTE phone being delayed while the 4G LTE network was down makes for total sense. But taking things a step further than simple speculation, it looks like Verizon has offered an email confirming the delay. And the bad news with that, the email has not offered up anything new in terms of when we can expect the Charge to arrive.

That said, we would like to think that Verizon will still manage to get the Droid Charge in stores and online at some point today given the network is back, however for now we have this to go on;

“Verizon Wireless is experiencing unexpected delays with the launch of the Droid Charge by Samsung. Verizon Wireless is committed to providing the very best customer experience with all of their products and services. If you’d like to provide us with your contact information today, we will gladly notify you once the device is available for purchase. Another alternative is to visit www.droiddoes.com/charge to register your email for the latest updates.”

      Verizon needs to step up to the plate and quite leading on consumers. They heard us around with promices they can’t deliver on. The problem is nobody want’s to take blame. The Thunderbolt was HTC’s fault, the Samsung Charge was there fault, and who know’s with the Motorola Bionic. I’m not an Apple fan, but at least they launch there product when they say they are going to. I’m almost finished with Verizon, your 4G network is fast, but if my battery is going to be dead in 4 hours what’s the point.
