We all know that Apple gear is great on the run. When you’re outdoors or at a store or somewhere away from your desk, it’s great to have the many mobile functions that Apple gear offers. But when you get back to your desk, as we all inevitably must at some point, sometimes it’s tough to get that same effect. That’s where things like the new Sinjimorou Sync Stand come into play, giving you a way to make your iPhone or iPod Touch do just as much for you at home as it would do on the road.

Basically, what the Sinjimorou does is give you a little plastic stand that will take your smaller iOS gear–your iPhone and iPod Touch especially–and hold it upright, in your choice of horizontal or vertical orientations. It doesn’t matter if it’s got a bumper case or the like on it, even some of the heavier protective cases–it holds it. And even better, you can also plug in your device’s standard charging or syncing cable while it sits on the stand, and charge while displaying or using it.

There are some downsides to this, though: it’s not the biggest stand going, so it’s not going to do very well with your iPad (it’d just be entirely too top-heavy) and the foot doesn’t have any kind of traction aid like textured grip, so if your desktop has that high-gloss sheen, you might wind up chasing your iOS gear as you try to touch the screen with a fingertip.

But all things considered–especially considered that the Sinjimorou Sync Stand will come your way for just $18 out at Amazon–it’s not like you’re going to have to shell out really big to get one of these, and if you find yourself needing a way to keep your iPhone or iPad upright (even if you’re not specifically at your home desktop), you could certainly do worse.
