Motorola Droid 3 (Targa?) Spotted In the Wild, at Least Parts of It [Supplier Shows 4-inch Motorola Droid 3 Smartphone, Calls It Targa, Confuses Everyone in the Process]
We have just seen the Q1 earnings report for Motorola Mobility but we have more important news for you today, as a new Motorola handset has been leaked in the wild. We’re apparently looking at the Motorola Droid 3, the second successor of the popular Motorola Droid, but, for some reason, the handset is listed as the Targa.

But let’s take it slowly, shall we? The Targa is supposed to be a brand new Motorola smartphone, which should replace the Droid Bionic, according to earlier rumors, although we have no confirmation on that matter yet. Furthermore, the Targa was previously leaked and we did show you alleged images of this super Android smartphone in the past. Needless to say, those images don’t exactly match the pictures we have for you today.

Moving on the Motorola Droid 3, we’ve also seen this baby in the wild, right around the time the LTE Targa came out of hiding, and today’s images, even if they’re showing only the front panel of the device, match the ones we showed you initially.

So why is the supplier saying this is the Motorola Targa? The Droid 3 will most likely lack 4G support, just like the Motorola Droid X2, but it will have better hardware to offer.

If these images are showing us the real deal, then the Droid 3 will be a 4-inch Android smartphone (therefore bigger than predecessors) that will come with a full QWERTY keyboard but also with a front-facing camera for video calls. We don’t have more details for you at this point and we’re yet to determine whether the Droid 3 is actually the Tegra, or if all of this was just another (intentional?) mix-up. Keep close folks, as we’re going to get to the bottom of this in the very near future and update you accordingly!
