Asus Eee Pad Transformer Gets Honeycomb 3.0.1 Software Update
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer was just released this month, but Asus has already released a software update that adds some apps and a bit of functionality.
While the Asus Eee Pad Transformer comes shipped with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, some users are reporting freezing problems (which is a problem of 3.0 itself and not just the Transformer). Asus’ release of Honeycomb 3.0.1 addresses a few bugs, which include the random freezing issue. The update also adds some Asus applications, including MyCloud, MyDesktop and MyContent, and additional social apps.
MyCloud is Asus’ cloud-storage application, which synchronizes your local files with your cloud storage account. MyContent will store multimedia like music and videos. MyDesktop gives users remote access to Windows computers. Granted, these apps might be considered bloatware, and you can actually find decent third-party apps that do just these (and more), like Dropbox and Box.
Bloatware aside, the 3.0.1. update is actually necessary if you want to get rid of Honeycomb bugs.
