Asus Eee Pad Transformer Accessories Announced [Asus Introduces Accessories for Its 10.1-inch Convertible Tablet Computer]

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is an interesting tablet in itself, with a removable keyboard that turns it into a netbook. Asus makes it even more interesting with a slew of new accessories. Is that a smart cover we see there?

Asus is introducing official accessories for the Eee Pad Transformer tablet computer. Aside from the keyboard dock, which makes the tablet loads more functional (not to mention doubling the battery capacity to 16 hours), new accessories include the following:

• Protective cover that doubles as a stand (and which reminds us of the iPad 2 smart cover);
• Travel kit with interchangable plugs (for use with different outlet standards around the world);
• Desktop stand. This can be used for charging and syncing. The stand also acts as a  USB hub, and has a 3.5-mm stereo jack;
• SD and USB drive readers;
• Mini HDMI to VGA adaptor
• Headphones

Asus has not yet announced pricing on any of these accessories, although the Eee Pad Transformer itself is announced to have a $399.99 price for the tablet alone. The keyboard dock is sold separately or as an add-on accessory, priced at $150.
