Verizon HTC Trophy Spotted On Verizon, Coming Soon?
Even though there was no CDMA baseband support for Windows Phone 7 originally, we’ve known for a while that the HTC Trophy was coming to Verizon, ever since Verizon started pre-selling the WP7 device to Microsoft customers. Well, with the HTC Arrive coming out on Sprint, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the HTC Trophy to finally drop on Verizon, and it may be soon! The phone was briefly added to Best Buy’s website, before being yanked down.

The HTC Trophy is currently being sold in Australia as the HTC 7 Trophy. Because of the strict hardware spec, all these Windows Phone 7 devices are fairly similar, so you know the specs – 3.9-inch screen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 576MB of RAM, 8GB of memory, etc. etc. As mentioned, Microsoft started selling this phone to Microsoft employees only in a special contract months ago, before doing it again recently. Windows insiders, like WinSuperSite’s Paul Thurrott, have indicated that this phone will be the one coming to Verizon, so this Best Buy mistake looks legit.
Regarding that Best Buy listing, the only price listed was $599.99 without a contract, with no contract (subsidized) price listed. It’s unclear if that’s a placeholder, or what they intend to sell the phone for without a contract. Don’t bother searching for the listing down, as aforementioned it’s long since been yanked down by Best Buy.
When we first saw leaked images of the HTC Trophy with Verizon branding, the device was tipped to be coming out in late March. Obviously it’s past that date, but Verizon has had a lot of devices coming out lately, it’s possible the Trophy got pushed back in the shuffle and we also heard it was coming in June. Stay tuned, looks like Windows Phone 7 is coming to Verizon.
