Apple iPad 2 Will Be Available In 12 Additional Countries This Week [Apple iPad 2 Coming To Japan On April 28th With 11 Additional Countries On April 29th & China On May 6th]
Many are probably still surprised to learn that the white iPhone 4 is going to be officially available as of tomorrow, however we suspect that many are probably just as excited to see that Apple has detailed the further international rollout of the iPad 2. In short, 12 additional countries will be able to pick up an iPad 2 starting later this week and more will be following in the future.

As for the countries and the dates. It looks like the iPad 2 will come available in Japan as of April 28th and then a day later (on April 29th) it will come available in Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE. In addition, those in China will be able to make a purchase as of May 6th. And then after that things are a bit more open. Apple has stated that “further international availability will be announced at a later date.”
And while we have already mentioned the release dates, it seems this release is also coming with a specific time of day. Those interested will be able to shell out their money online with the Apple Store at 1AM local time and in Apple retail stores and with select Apple Authorized Resellers beginning at 9AM local time.
With that, it seems the only catch in terms of this availability is going to come with China where it was noted that the only iPad 2 that will be available is going to be the Wi-Fi only model. Otherwise, from the way the press release announcement reads, it looks like the other locations will have the option to go with the Wi-Fi and/or 3G model.
In the meantime, we suspect now that Apple has officially detailed these plans we are going to start seeing local carriers make some announcements of their own in terms of data plans and pricing.
