Verizon Officially Announces The HTC Droid Incredible 2 [Droid Incredible 2 Announced, Will Arrive April 28th With On-Contract Price Tag Of $199.99]

Verizon has put another series of rumors to rest this morning, they have officially announced the Droid Incredible 2. And while this is good news for those hoping to make a purchase, it comes with not much in terms of surprise.

That said, the Droid Incredible 2 will be available on April 28th, as in just two days from now and also the same day the Droid Charge is coming available. And thankfully, the Droid Incredible is going to be a bit more reasonably priced as compared to the Charge. The Incredible 2 is going to be priced at $199.99 on a two-year agreement.

With its sleek, all-black design, DROID Incredible 2 by HTC combines functionality and speed into one stylish package. DROID Incredible 2 by HTC is a global-ready Android smartphone, allowing customers to enjoy wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries, with more than 125 with 3G speeds.

In terms of the specs, those include;

  • 4 inch Super LCD touchscreen display
  • 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 3G
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • microSD card slot
  • SRS WOWHD Surround Sound
  • Integrated noise-cancellation technology
  • Adobe Flash Player
  • Android 2.2
  • HTC’s Sense user interface

In terms of the camera, there is going to be a front and rear facing. The front will be a 1.3 megapixel and the rear will be an 8 megapixel with dual LED flash and automatic face detection. In addition, and coming courtesy of the Sense user interface, there will also be “unique camera effects and filters.” Other goodies will include 3G Mobile Hotspot which will serve Wi-Fi for up to five other devices as well as “advanced personalization options, consolidated email capability” coming by way of the Sense user interface.

All said and done, the Droid Incredible 2 is not going to be your standout phone in the lineup as compared to some of the newer 4G offerings. But at the same time, it is running Android 2.2 and seems to offer a fairly solid set of specs. Its just it may have been nicer if it launched at $149.99 as opposed to $199.99. Of course, that is why we have third party retailers such as Amazon Wireless and Wirefly.
