HP Palm Pre 3 Appears To Have Just Passed Through The FCC [Mystery webOS 2.3 Device Shows Up In FCC Filing, Believed To Be The Pre 3, But Remains Locked In Confidentiality]
An FCC filing rarely tells a complete story, however for the most part, they tend to tell more of a story then this particular filing. That said, we have a filing which appears to be for a GSM based HP Pre 3.

For those hoping to see the Pre 3 come to Verizon, while that may still happen at some point in the future — this filing is showing off a GSM only version. Of course, that could also mean that this is simply going to be an unlocked version that is sold direct by HP and we are going to see the CDMA version show with the FCC at a later date. Or, maybe the Pre 3 is only going to come available with AT&T.
And yes, like most of these filings, there is some speculation involved. But moving past that, what we can tell you is that this device (the Pre 3) will launch with webOS version 2.3 and that it will have support for the 850 and 1900MHz bands. In other words, the AT&T friendly bands. Otherwise, this is an HP branded “phone” and sporting the unidentifiable model number of HSTNH-F30CN with an FCC ID of B94HHF30CN. In addition, the handset will have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth with EDR.
With that, this particular filing has a 180 day confidentiality agreement, which means we will most likely see this device come available sometime before October. Of course, in reality it will most likely happen before October, and that could place this in an end of summer timeframe. Bottom line, it looks like the HP Pre 3 has just passed through the FCC and seems to be on track for release.
With that, the Pre 3 coming with support for AT&T bands is not all that far out there at this time considering we have heard recent rumblings about the HP Veer coming to AT&T in May.
