New iPhone 5 / iPhone 4S Spotted in Real Life Months Before Release

We have new iPhone 5 details for you, and, despite not being actually confirmed yet, they’re still worth checking out. After we saw a white iPhone prototype last week on video, and after hearing that certain developers get to play with an iPhone 4S months ahead of the official release date, we have two more intriguing pictures for you today, right after the break.

Naturally, we’re looking at an unofficial image of what could be the next-gen iPhone. We have no idea whether we’re looking at a white iPhone 5 or white iPhone 4S, but what seems pretty obvious, so far, is that we’re looking at a bigger display. It’s not necessarily a 4-inch panel, and, if recent rumors are correct, we could be looking at a 3.7-inch display. But it’s clear that this thing is a little bigger than your average iPhone LCD, and it’s exactly the edge-to-edge screen we kept hearing of in recent rumors.

MIC Gadget has posted these images of what it is believed to be some sort of a next iPhone, clearly a prototype of some sort, but we’re yet to confirm whether it was designed by Apple in California, or whether we’re looking at an attention-grabbing knock off.

The comparison in the image below, between the regular iPhone 4 and the new iPhone 5/4S is worth a thousand words. As you can see, it’s pretty clear we’re looking at a different front panel. The touchscreen is bigger with just a few millimeters longer both in height but also in width, or enough to make this one a 3.7-inch iPhone display.

It’s also interesting we keep seeing white iPhone 4 / 4S / 5 prototypes in the wild. Is Apple making sure it’ll have plenty of white iPhone 5 units at launch by testing the painting procedures months ahead the official announcement?
