Motorola Droid X Free at Amazon

Motorola Droid X2 Launch is Nearing & Amazon Wants to Push Its Inventory of the Droid X

Motorola is just about ready to launch its next Android Phone, the Droid X2. While we do expect prices of older devices to drop, Amazon is actually giving away the older Droid X for free.

That is, if you consider $0.01 as free, which it practically is. While Verizon has dropped the price of its Motorola Droid X Smartphone to $149.99, Amazon has a better offer, with the Droid X smartphone selling for $0.01 with a subscription.

The fact that the Motorola Droid X is set to get its Android 2.3 Gingerbread update sometime soon might make it a more attractive smartphone at this point. Thus, if you’re not really raving to get the latest and most advanced smartphone to date, you might want to consider last year’s model for free.

If you’d rather have the phone without contract, then better head over to Verizon, which sells the unit-only package for $399.99.
