Verizon Wireless Now Offering Refurbished Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablets For $149.99 [Get A Verizon Equipped Galaxy Tab For $149.99, As Long As You Are Ok With Buying Certified Pre-Owned]
While many are looking for Honeycomb when it comes to an Android tablet at this point, there is still the already proven to be popular Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android 2.2 to consider. Plus, at least with Verizon you will need to shell out $599.99 (on a two-year agreement) to purchase the Xoom. Kind of high for some.

Anyway, calling it old, already proven or simply affordable — we had recently seen Verizon lower the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab down to $199.99 on a two-year agreement and well, that has come with another little perk in the form of refurbished prices.
Or more specifically, as Verizon likes to call them — certified pre-owned. But regardless of name, the ‘not-brand-new’ Galaxy Tab tablets have dropped in price with Verizon and you can pick up one of those for just $149.99. Of course, that also requires a two-year agreement.
And for those worried about getting a pre-owned device. These come from Verizon and include a 14-day return policy. Not to mention they still have the one year warranty against manufacturing defects. Furthermore, before Verizon sends these units out, they meet “high quality standards by going through the following;”
- A complete 100+ point checklist to ensure every area measures up to our standards of excellence
- Visual cosmetic inspection
- Advanced functional manual and electronic inspection
- Upgraded to the latest software
But that aside, I have bought pre-owned on several occasions (from Verizon, Apple and AT&T) and have never had any issues in doing so. Personally, I recommend it. And as for those two-year agreements, in the case of a tablet with Verizon that means a data plan and those are relatively low priced. You can opt for 1GB of data for $20, 3GB for $35, 5GB for $50 or 10GB for $80. And with that, while 1GB is on the low side, if you mix that in with Wi-Fi when at home and using publicly available hotspots you should be just fine in most cases.
