Hulu On PlayBook Coming? RIM & Hulu In Talks [RIM Said To Be In Talks With Hulu Over Bringing The Popular IPTV Site To The 1GHz BlackBerry Tablet]

Yesterday, our man Steve told you about how Hulu was blocked on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Disappointed? There may be hope, as a new report today says that BlackBerry manufacturer RIM and Hulu are in talks to bring the popular IPTV site to the first BlackBerry tablet.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that both Hulu and RIM are in talk to bring Hulu to the tablet. Hulu is owned by a group of big media companies, so they are serving both the users and their content holders.

It looks like they’re aiming to offer Hulu on mobile devices only to folks who pay the $8/month fee for Hulu Plus. Hulu has faced criticism from their content masters about how they’re turning “real dollars into digital pennies” (or something to that effect). Currently, Hulu offers Hulu Plus mobile apps on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch from Apple, although they promise that an Android app is coming.

As many readers are aware, Hulu was the TV networks’ response to all the pirated content on YouTube, and it legally shows their content on the web. It’s actually a quite good service, even if you don’t want to pay for it, although I have Hulu Plus and consider it a pretty good investment.

Even though Hulu is official blocked on the PlayBook, it seems like there are ways around it, just like Android. It usually involves changing your browser’s user agent or something similar.

Anyway, do you have a PlayBook yet? Do you want to see Hulu on the device? Tell us about it in the comments section.
