Samsung-built Amazon Android Kindle Tab Tablet Coming Later This Year?
Ever since the first iPad came to life Amazon has been suspected to create its own tablet, but that hasn’t happened yet. 2011 might be the year we see the first Amazon Android tablet, and the word on the street it’s going to be a Samsung-made device.

We’ll start by asking the obvious questions first: will it be a Kindle Tab? And, if, made by Samsung, will it look anything like the iPad 2 and hence the Galaxy Tab 10.1?
Leaving jokes aside, we’re really interested to see how Samsung would accomplish such a challenge without hurting its tablet business in the process. Let’s not forget that next to Apple, Amazon could be an impressive tablet rival. Just as Apple, Amazon has the means to provide what tablet owners want, instant content, whether it’s music, videos, eBooks and, as of late, an actual app store.
So now that an iTunes-like backbone is in place, an Amazon tablet sounds like just what the doctor ordered. The obvious platform to choose is Android here, since, after all, Android is the main iOS rival out there when it comes to both smartphones and tablets.
Which, again, brings me to this question: will a Samsung-built Amazon Kindle Tab hurt Galaxy Tab sales? As for the Kindle Tab name I keep insisting on, well, the Kindle is the only genuine Amazon product, and it’s a great brand itself in the USA and worldwide. Why not make the Amazon tablet a part of the Kindle family? After all it’ll act as an eBook reader too.
Of course the first Amazon tablet could be a cheaper, smaller model, in which case Amazon will go for a certain type of buyer. Maybe the kind of buyer that would look twice at the price of the Xoom or Galaxy Tab 10.1 and ultimately decide between the cheapest iPad 2, or heck, why not, a second hand iPad 1 or a cheaper, Kindle-like-affordable Amazon tablet?
