Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Spotted Running Honeycomb in the Wild
Motorola’s Xoom Honeycomb tablet is currently the main iPad 2 rival, but the first Android 3.0 tablet in the world has a tough time actually fighting against Apple’s newest creation. So the natural question is, will the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 stand a better chance of competing against the iPad 2?

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 was announced at MWC 2011, where we took it for a spin for you guys, but once Apple released the next-gen iPad 2 Samsung realized they have to make some quick changes to actually compete against Apple. The thicker Galaxy Tab 10.1 became the Galaxy Tab 10.1v, now a Vodafone exclusive getting ready to launch in Australia, and Samsung unveiled a brand new, thinner, more iPad 2 rival worthy, Galaxy Tab version at CTIA 2011, a model that will be known from then on as the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Why the long introduction? Well it looks like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 units that Samsung had on display at CTIA 2011 were not actually ready to run Android Honeycomb yet, unlike its thicker predecessor, which brings us to today’s video.
A Vietnamese site, and one that we’ve seen in previous leaks, has gotten a hold of a working Galaxy Tab 10.1 unit. And the tablet was indeed running Android Honeycomb, just as expected. We also have a video for you, an almost 5-minute clip that takes us through the features of the device and shows us some Angry Birds action among other Honeycomb bits. You won’t understand much of that video, unless you’re fluent in Vietnamese, but at least you can enjoy the background noise and music and check out the comparison with the iPad 2 while you’re at it.
The tablet doesn’t appear to have fallen of a truck and it hasn’t been forgotten in a bar either. From the looks of it the tablet has been found at a Samsung booth somewhere in Asia, so the video appears to be as legit as they get. Anyone already looking forward for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to hit stores?
