Motorola Droid X2 Specs & Features Uncovered; Video Too
The Droid Bionic might get canceled, although we’re yet to hear the fat lady sing on that one, but that doesn’t mean Motorola doesn’t have some hot Android handsets coming to Verizon, and hopefully other markets, soon. One such device is the Motorola Droid X2 which we’ve seen in previous rumors so far.

It looks like one Droid X2 unit was spotted in the wild and we already have a list of specs and features for you as well as some other details about this upcoming smartphone. But let’s start with these specs and features first:
• 4.3-inch screen (960 x 540) qHD screen
• 1.2 GHz Dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor
• Android 2.2 (currently, may ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread)
• 768MB of RAM
• 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash
• 720p HD video capture
• Micro USB
• Micro HDMI
• Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass
• Light and proximity sensors
Right off the bat we’ll notice that the Droid X2 is pretty similar to the Droid X when it comes to its physical attributes. Moreover, the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, the qHD resolution and the lack of 4G support suggest that we’re looking at a Droid X minor refresh rather than a full-blown upgrade. The Droid X2 was never supposed to be an LTE handset, but considering that Motorola is said to cancel the Droid Bionic, should we assume that the manufacturer has issues conceiving a competitive Android LTE handset?
Nevertheless, the Droid X2 will surely be an interesting device, and we’re looking at a great HTC Sensation alternative/rival, depending on how you’re looking at it.
The handset is pretty fast too, scoring a 2453 in a Quadrant test, which means it should deliver a great smartphone experience. It will probably be pretty affordable too as we expect Verizon to price it at $199.99 with new two-year contracts since we’re not looking at an LTE device.
We have no release dates for the Droid X2 just yet but we certainly expect Verizon and Motorola to launch it soon, so stick around for more new on the Droid X2 in the following months.
