Cisco Cius Enterprise Tablets Now on Pre-Order
If your company or business is in the market for tablet computers, you might want to check out Cisco’s Cius Tablet. The Android tablet–which can integrate with corporate communication systems–is now on pre-order.

Cisco announced its Cius enterprise Android tablet earlier last year and at CES 2011, and people got wondering about the price tag. At about $1,000 apiece, it’s twice the price of an entry-level iPad 2. However, the target market being business and enterprise users, you can expect the Cius to have features that are unique to that market, such as virtualization and enhanced security.
The Cisco Cius tablet features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, high-definition video playback, and an 8-hour battery life (which we suppose is enough for a workday). Cisco says the Cius should work in conjunction with existing Cisco communications apparatuses, particularly VoIP and videoconferencing devices. The Cius supports Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth and even Ethernet connectivity. With cloud-based applications gaining popularity in the business market, the Cius will also have a virtual desktop client for accessing cloud-based apps.
Cisco says that the tablet won’t be available through retail channels, though. But businesses can check with Cisco channel retailers for orders.
