Steve Wozniak Would Go Back To Apple If Asked
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is practically the patron saint of computer nerds. Now, he has told the media that he would return to the company he helped found in an Palo Alto garage over 30 years ago. Talking to Reuters, Wozniak said he would “I’d consider it, yeah,” if asked to return the company.

Wozniak left Apple in 1987, although he still receives a paycheck from the company. He founded Apple with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne in 1978, and many consider Woz to be the “talent” behind those early Apple days, although many will debate Jobs’ involvement.
When asked what he would do if he returned to Apple, Wozniak told Reuters he would “get in there and add my own touches. My thinking is that Apple could be more open and not lose sales. I’m sure they’re making the right decisions for the right reasons for Apple.”
When asked about his opinion of Apple’s current products, Wozniak said, “Unbelievable. The products, one after another, quality and hits.”
According to the Reuters article, Wozniak is currently working as “Chief Scientist” for Fusion-io, a data storage startup based in Salt Lake City. You may remember him from his short-lived appearance on the American version of Dancing With The Stars on the ABC network.
I doubt the Apple board would ask Wozniak to replace Steve Jobs if the ill CEO was unable to return to the role. But, plenty of people have been wondering what would happen to the CEO position at Apple should Jobs be unable to return, and Wozniak would certainly be a fan favorite to fill the role.
