Skype 5.3 Update Improves Video Quality
Skype has recently released an updated client for Windows, which fixes several bugs and issues, and improves quality when video-calling with mobile devices.

Skype allows for multi-platform video chatting as it has clients for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and the like. However, users experience iffy quality when calling iOS users, which includes the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Skype’s latest Windows update fixes this, and improves video-call quality.
The update is for the Windows client, and users on the other end (assuming it’s an iOS device) will enjoy the benefits of better video quality. Other features include:
- Improved video handling when auto-answer is enabled;
- UI improvements in compact mode;
- Improvement in switching between SMS and chat;
- Improvement in managing contacts;
- UI improvements in right-to-left language setting;
- Bug fixes.
Users have reported, though, that the update is not automatically initiated when Skype checks for the latest version, so you might have to manually go to the Skype download site in order to upgrade.
