Manufacturers Out Of GeForce GTX 590s In Europe
A few weeks ago, we told you about a report coming from Fudzilla that the supply of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 graphics cards in the United States was completely gone, while Europe seemed to be holding a respectable supply. Now, that same website is reporting that European partners have completely sold out of the cards, leaving all their supply in the hands of the European shops. On this side of the Atlantic, the NVIDIA “halo cards” are still impossible to find.

Remember that the GTX 590 launched in Europe for an insane price. It was almost €100 more than the AMD Radeon HD 6990 at launch – a horrible price considering that the cards are roughly the same in performance, depending on whose benchmark you look at. Because of that, the card didn’t seem to be moving in Europe. However, retailers quickly started dropping the price to compete with the ‘Radeon HD 6990, and now Fudzilla reports that the card manufacturers have completely sold all their stock through to the partners.
In the United States, the scene was different. The GTX 590 launched at $700, or $730 for the overclocked version from EVGA. Those prices were better, at first, than the Radeon HD 6990, causing the stock of the cards to disappear quickly. Remember that just a few thousand cards are out in the market between Europe and the US, so supply is extremely low in both countries.
We keep hearing rumors that the shops are going to get “second shipments” soon of the GTX 590s in the United States. I can’t independently confirm that, however, so you wait at your own risk.
