MLB 2K11 Offers Million Dollar Bounty To First Perfect Game [Pitch A Perfect Game In MLB 2K11, Get A Cool Million Bucks Free]

Ever sit around playing your game of choice and wishing that it were as easy to make money in real life as it is in games? Go outside, cut open a blob of slime with your big sword and pull out two whole gold pieces, or even just get one of those big million dollar sports contracts in your favorite sport? Well, now you can do just that, but you’ll have to pull off something of a minor miracle to qualify. MLB 2K11 has a contest just starting tonight at midnight Eastern Standard Time in which, if you pitch a perfect game, you win a million bucks.

First off, the important caveats; when there’s that kind of money up for grabs you know there are plenty of i’s to dot and t’s to cross. First, you’ll need to be at least 13 years old and have an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3, as well as a copy of MLB 2K11. You’ll also need a video camera going in the background, as you start a recording at least five seconds before you turn on the television. Then you’ll pick your team matchup of choice and get started pitching. You can’t make any pitching substitutions, call the coach to the mound, or even pause the game, so it’s probably a good idea not to drink anything before you get started.

And then, you’ll begin your pitching, and you’ll have to strike out fully 27 consecutive batters in order to win, with absolutely nobody touching a single base. 27 up, 27 down. What you do batting-wise doesn’t seem to matter, though.

Just for background, in the entire history of baseball, only 18 pitchers have managed to pull off the perfect game, so you’re going to be hard pressed to duplicate the feat yourself. But if you pull it off, you’ll get a special code displayed on the screen that you must then copy down and input over at the 2K Sports website, and then you’ll send the video of your performance to 2K, via snail mail, no less, and then, finally, after all those hoops, you’ll get your cool million.

And if you do manage this feat, know you’ll be in a company of two. Only one other gamer has pulled it off, and that’s Wade McGilberry in Semmes, Alabama.

Your run for the million bucks starts tonight at 9PM Pacific Time (Midnight Eastern Standard) and runs clear through September 28. So take the phone off the hook, clear your calendar, and get to pitching, folks!
