HTC Thunderbolt vs iPhone 4: Is the Android Handset More Popular Than the CDMA iPhone? [New Study Says the Thunderbolt Outsells the iPhone 4 in Verizon Stores]
Smartphone fans already know that Verizon has two of the hottest smartphones on sale in its store at the moment, the CDMA iPhone 4 and the HTC Thunderbolt; in launch order. The question is which one of the two devices is more popular with the buyers?

A recent report is suggesting that the Android 4G LTE smartphone, the first of its kind to be launched in the USA, is more popular with Verizon customers than the iPhone 4.
The CDMA iPhone 4 was unveiled right after CES 2011 and then launched in the following month. But not all Verizon customers were that excited to buy a phone that was over six months old, no matter how hot the phone actually is. In fact many smartphone buyers waited of the HTC Thunderbolt to be launched in February also, but that never happened. The phone was delayed for various reasons and only reached Verizon stores in March.
Nevertheless, the HTC Thunderbolt generated a great deal of interest, and we’re not surprised to hear that according to a recent study the iPhone 4 is being bested by the Thunderbolt in some markets. Research firm BTIG asked 150 Verizon stores about the HTC Thunderbolt vs iPhone 4 sales performance and while 61% of stores reported similar numbers for the two handsets, 28% of them said that HTC was winning the battle against Apple.
That’s a pretty interesting report, but we’re yet to see whether the HTC Thunderbolt sales numbers will actually manage to beat the iPhone 4 sales on the long run. Not to mention that Apple will launch the iPhone 5 later this year, with CDMA support too, and, that might actually be the iPhone that so many Verizon customers were, and still are, actually waiting for
What about you, folks? Would you rather buy the HTC Thunderbolt or the Apple iPhone 4 from Verizon?
