Activision Announces Spider-Man: Edge Of Time
Activision and Marvel have issued a press release announcing the development of a new Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time. The new title is being made by Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions developer Beenox and keeps up with the first game’s cross-dimension action gameplay, this time seeing the Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 working together to prevent the death of Peter Parker.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time will feature “cause-and-effect” gameplay, where the actions of one Spider-Man changes the other’s dimension, and Spider-Man 2099 co-creator Peter David is writing the story.
“We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance,” said Beenox head Dee Brown.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time will be out later this year for unspecified platforms (but expect a myriad of versions since Shattered Dimensions was on 360, PS3, Wii, PC, and DS), and if you’re heading to WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco you catch get a preview of the game at the Activison/Spider-Man panel on April 2.
