First Mortal Kombat DLC Characters Detailed
We’ve still got a little less than a month to go before Mortal Kombat is released, but NetherRealm Studios has already revealed the first batch of downloadable characters for the game. First up is Kenshi, the blind katana wielding warrior who made his debut back in 2002′s Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

The second character announced is Scarlet, a new addition to the Mortal Kombat series who was born out of a glitch from Mortal Kombat 2 that performed a palatte swap on the female ninja model used for Jade, Kitana, and Mileena and turned her red.
“People always thought it was a hidden unlockable character and it wasn’t, it was purely a programming glitch,” said NetherRealm’s Hans Lo in an interview with CVG. “They’ve always speculated and in fact it was the fans who named her Scarlet to begin with. She’s no longer a glitch – she’s an actual character, and she’ll be coming pretty soon post-launch.”
Lo also says that there will be no shortage of future DLC character packs, as NetherRealm plans to keep releasing DLC for “as long as people are playing it.” Mortal Kombat releases for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 19 in North America and April 21 in Europe.
