Crysis 2 For PC Patched [Crysis 2 PC Gamers Get Major Patch Fix, Including Removal Of Auto-Aim & Cheat Detection, But No Solution To Activation Issues]
Crysis 2 – seems to suffer from “Call of Duty” syndrome and on the PC suffers from signs of “console port-itis”. Now, to answer community complaints, the folks at Crytek issued a Day One patch for the PC version that, among other things, removes the dreaded auto-aim from the PC game.

According to Crytek employee “Cry-Tom”, posting in the Crytek forums, this is what was changed in the Day One update:
- Server Browser shows incorrect pings – Fixed
- Some matches never initiate – Fixed
- Faster text chat – As speedy as can be
- Console re-enabled – Console has been re-activated
- Cheat detection – Now in place to ensure all users are on a level playing field
- Fix USB headset issues – Current issues have been addressed and fixed
- Fix hologram icon staying on screen after being used – Fixed
- Remove Auto Aim – This has now been completely removed due to overwhelming community feedback
Auto-aim is probably the biggie for the PC community, considering that it’s not needed when you’re rocking the mouse and keyboard and PC gamers tend to hate it like the plague. Cheat detection and the console being re-enabled are also biggies.
Still no solution for the activation problem. A considerable number of people are claiming to have issues activating the game. I guess you’ve got to hold out hope if you’re one of those people affected.
The patch has already pushed to Crysis 2 PC users when they turned on their game. If you’re a Crysis gamer, you most likely already have it. For those who haven’t taken the plunge yet, Crysis 2 was released this week on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is currently sitting at a respectable Metacritic score of “88″.
