Google Internally Testing Google Music Service [Tipsters Say That Google Employees Testing Google's Music Service That Has Been Silent For Awhile]

Google promised us “Google Music“, a music streaming service, last year at Google I/O 2010. And hackers even got the service to kinda work earlier this year on an early version of Honeycomb. But, we may be getting close to the real release of Google Music as CENT reports that Google tipsters claim that Google is internally testing Google Music with employees.

As I’m sure you know, companies often test their products internally before unleashing them on the public (remember Gray Powell and his iPhone 4?). Hopefully, that means that the release of Google Music is coming sooner, rather than later. Back in Februrary, Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha accidentally let slip that Google Music will be closely tied in with Honeycomb, the latest “tablet-ready” version of Android. It’s also said to be the “iTunes for Android” that would let Android users buy music, and is also supposed to be headed to Google TV.

Phandroid reports that Google is hitting heavy resistance from music companies. That’s not hard to believe – Google has never done well at selling anything directly to consumers (remember the Google Video Rentals?) and they are probably going to go with a cloud-based “all-you-can-eat” service, like Zune Pass or Napster. It’s not unheard of for those types of deals to be more strenuous. I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out here that Google has had bad relations with the streaming TV and Movie providers, like Hulu and their corporate partners, who have blocked the Google TV from accessing their service.

Are you excited for Google Music?
