Rhapsody App Now Available For Windows Phone 7 Smartphones [Rhapsody Comes To Windows Phone 7, Brings 11 Million Songs, 60 Day Free Trial & $9.99 Per Month Price Tag]
Rhapsody has officially come to another mobile platform — Windows Phone 7. Of course, the WP7 app joins the apps for iOS, Android and the BlackBerry. Seems to be a nice roundup. And for those not as familiar with Rhapsody, its a subscription music service that is priced at $9.99 per month and gives you access to more than 11 million songs.

The Windows Phone 7 app is currently sitting at version 1.0 and arrives at a time when Rhapsody is offering a 60 day free trial. And as you can see from the above screen captures, the Rhapsody app for Windows Phone 7 is sporting a very Metro-like design. But perhaps a little more important are the features which include the ability to stream and/or download an unlimited amount of tracks.
Other features include being able to search based on artist or track as well as creating personal playlists, browsing by category and listening to Rhapsody Radio. In addition there is also the other goodies that seem to be standard in music services such as artist bios.
That said, while it is not all that surprising to see Rhapsody come available for Windows Phone 7 given the other platforms they are on, it will be interesting to see people decide between this and a Zune Pass. Sure, many have poked fun at the Zune hardware in the past, but the Zune Pass subscription, which is built-in to Windows Phone 7 is priced just a few bucks higher ($14.99 per month) but also gives you 10 free tracks to download (and keep forever). Of course, we would suppose that if you were already a Rhapsody subscriber and just waiting for the WP7 app then the decision would be an easy one. Otherwise, as a former Zune user I have to say that giving up my Zune Pass was harder than giving up my Zune HD.
