Yesterday we mentioned the voice quality concerns with the Motorola Atrix 4G smartphone, and while it seems to have been going on for a short while, the attention to the issue has recently increased when it was more officially acknowledged by Motorola in their support forums.

That said, while the issues seem to be real and Motorola seems to be working to resolve the issues — they may not be as widespread as the vocal forum users are suggesting. Of course, that is subject to interpretation. Anyway, in a follow up to yesterdays news, Motorola has issued an official statement on the subject claiming that the issue has only affected a “very small number.”

Motorola Mobility is aware of a very small number of ATRIX 4G users who have reported low audio issues when placing voice calls. Motorola ATRIX 4G is designed and tested to meet our high standards for audio quality. As part of our longstanding commitment to delivering high quality products that our customers love, we believe in reacting even when identified issues impact only a handful of users. Motorola is evaluating further optimization of audio levels in a future maintenance release. Any consumer who experiences this issue should contact a Motorola customer support center.

Motorola takes great care to ensure devices are developed with quality in mind. We appreciate consumer feedback and will continue working to refine our product experience.

And without trying to take sides, we almost do have to side with Moto on this one. After all, while the forum seems to be rather active, we do have to keep in mind that the users with problems are generally going to be the most vocal. With that, if you are an Atrix 4G user and have been having trouble, head on over to the forums and answer the questions that Motorola provided and help them work towards a fix.
