Dungeon Fighter Online developer Nexon has issued a press release announcing that they’ll be branching out and bringing the title to XBLA later this year, with Microsoft Game Studios acting as publisher. The release of Dungeon Fighter Online on XBLA marks the first time Nexon has released a console game, and this deal with Microsoft is the beginning of long-term plans to expand from developing solely for PC.

2011 has already seen Sony release DC Universe Online on the PS3, and Sony Online Entertainment planning to release three more MMOs on the console this year alone. With the announcement of Dungeon Fighter Online on XBLA, 2011 is shaping up to be the year of the console MMO. No release date has been announced yet, with Nexon only saying it will be out later this year.
