Asus Eee Pad Transformer Ad Video Now Online
What’s the best way to showcase the features of a tablet-notebook hybrid? Apparently, you don’t have to highlight the features. Just show people you can remove the keyboard.

This is just what Asus’ latest advertising campaign is all about. The Eee Pad Transformer is supposed to be a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen running on Google’s tablet-optimized Honeycomb version of Android.
No mention of apps, however. Also, no mention of specifications, battery life, or even the price. It’s just supposedly a cool hybrid machine that can switch from notebook to tablet in a snap (literally).
If you’re not too particular with technical gobbledygook, then the skit–entitled The Eee Pad Story EP1–is quite entertaining, actually. However, I don’t think this kind of marketing will work for Asus. If it were Apple’s iPad being advertised, then Apple can do all sorts of vague magic and people are still going to buy.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer is launching in the US this April, and will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and has a 16-hour battery life.
