Staples Making A Push Towards Tablets, Announces The "Tablet Destination Initiative"
Staples seems to be taking full advantage of the tablet craze, and as a fan of the tablet, we have to say the idea of being able to visit one location and see a wide variety of devices sounds rather appealing. That said, as of today Staples has announced their “Tablet Destination” which means a lineup full of devices.

“Tablets are the hottest new technology and Staples continues to be at the forefront with a wide assortment of tablets and certified EasyTech and Staples Advantage associates to help consumers and businesses get the most from their tablet purchase.”
And in the process they have confirmed a few devices that will be available for sale of the coming months. According to the details given, Stapes will be offering a wide variety including tablets from Motorola, Dell, BlackBerry, HP, Toshiba, Acer and “others.” Personally we are a little curious to see who is going to be included in that others category, but for now here is they list they offered up;
- Motorola XOOM with Wi-Fi (available for pre-order)
- Dell Inspiron and Streak (available this week)
- BlackBerry PlayBook (pre-sale; available in-store on April 17)
- Next quarter: additional tablets from HP, Toshiba, Acer and others
And in addition to the new tablet section that will be found in-store, Staples has also launched a new mini-site attached to their regular website that will focus specifically on tablets. The site will offer side-by-side feature and price comparisons as well as photos, educational videos and business applications. In addition there will be videos, recommendations and a glossary of terms.
With that, while the new website sounds (and from what we have seen, looks) nice, we are thinking it will be much more fun to visit a Staples retail location and check out the complete range of tablets in person and get hands-on.
