Homefront Sells One Million Copies [Despite Lackluster Reviews & Questionable Ad Campaign, THQ Reports One Million Homefornt Copies Sold With 2.4 Million Shipped]

Okay, so maybe Homefront didn’t achieve the critical success THQ and Kaos Studios were hoping it would, and it definitely wasn’t the Call of Duty killer a few propped it up to be. It had a story that was supposed to cause controversy, but what caused the most controversy ended up being a debacle that involved balloons becoming an environmental hazard.

But despite only being labeled as “average,” by most reviewers and eliciting a few “what the hell?” moments from gamers during its development process, Homefront seems to have found commercial success. THQ announced today that since Homefront’s release last week, a total of one million copies have been sold across North America, Europe, and Australia, with 2.4 million copies shipped.

They may not be numbers we’re used to seeing from a high-profile FPS release, but it’s pretty great for a game that could never have been as awesome as it was hyped to be. Whether you love it or hate it, it seems like we have our confirmation that there will be a Homefront 2.
