CTIA 2011: Samsung Galaxy Indulge Gets A Second Provider: Cricket Wireless
A bit of a surprise slipped out of the CTIA show, and of course, we’ve got it right here. Seems that the Samsung Galaxy Indulge is getting a bit of a step up in the world as it adds on a new provider. Now, not only will you be able to find a Samsung Galaxy Indulge at a MetroPCS near you, but also at a Cricket Wireless.

Out at a press event at the CTIA show, it slipped out that the Samsung Galaxy Indulge was starting something of a world tour. Admittedly, these are kind of the lower-end providers–Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS really don’t stack up well against AT&T and Verizon–but still, get a nice coalition of the willing together like Samsung’s looking to do and pretty soon you’ve got some serious numbers on your side.
Anyway, there don’t appear to be many differences, at least as far as the handset itself goes, in the translation between MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless–there will be some difference in just which apps come pre-loaded, though, so that’s a distinction worth noting. We still expect to see the standard slate of goodies on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, though, including its 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen, its QWERTY keyboard, its 3.2 megapixel camera and Android 2.2 as well as Samsung’s TouchWiz interface.
As for the ever-popular questions of when you’ll get it and how much you’ll pay, we don’t have exact numbers just yet. However, Cricket did offer up preliminary numbers that aren’t too likely to change. It should be available in either May or June, and will sell at $300, possibly up to $350. If that sounds expensive, it is–but you have to bear in mind that you’re not getting this on a two year commitment as it will be a prepaid phone.
So if you’re looking to lay hands on one of these, better start saving now, because you’ll need plenty of cash to walk out with one of these.
