Asus Eee PC 1015B & Eee PC 1215B Netbooks Now Available For Pre-Order

Asus has officially added two more Eee PC branded netbooks in the (almost) available category. The models include the 1015B and the 1215B, both of which are available by way of online retailer Excalibur PC.

With that, these are both netbooks and therefor neither are shining all that bright in terms of specs. That said, they seem to be rather decent little machines — especially considering the price tags. The Eee PC 1015B is priced at $289 and the Eee PC 1215B is priced at $379. Though we should point out that while these are available for purchase, they are still technically listed as pre-order items. But on the positive side, the expected ship date is relatively close — April 1st.

Moving onto the specs, lets first dive into that of the 1015B. This model is the smaller of the two, and as per the first two digits of the model number — it is sporting a 10 inch display. More specifically, the Eee PC 1015B has a 10.1 inch LED backlit WSVGA display with a 1024 x 600 resolution. In addition you will also find a 1.2GHz AMD C30 processor, Intel GMA 3150 chipset, ATI HD6250 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter. Other specs of the1015B include measurements of 10.31 x 7.01 x 0.93-1.43 inches and a weight of 2.76 pounds.

Next up we have the 1215B and once again the model number tells the tale of the display size. The Eee PC 1215B features a 12.1 inch LED backlit WXGA display with a 1366 x 768 resolution. In addition there is a dual-core 1.0GHz AMD C50 processor, ATI HD6250 graphics, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, HDMI and Windows 7 Home Premium. The 1215B measures in at 11.65 x 7.99 x 0.91-1.46 inches and weighs 3.21 pounds.

And lastly, the specs that are shared across the board. Those include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Ethernet, a 0.3 megapixel webcam, stereo speakers, VGA, three USB 2.0, headphone out, microphone in, memory card reader and a 6-cell battery that is said to be able to offer up to 8.5 hours of run time.
