iPad 2 Jailbreak to be Fixed by Upcoming iOS 4.3.1 Version?
The first iOS device not to be jailbreak-ready out-of-the-box (at least using current jailbreaking tools) was the iPad 2. But while the 2010 exploits were not usable anymore as Apple patched them with in this tablet hardware refresh, a method for jailbreaking the iPad 2 was found albeit it’s not public yet.

Apple, however, is preparing to already counter the iPad 2 jailbreak with a new iOS update that will supposedly prevent hacking the new tablet, at least for a short while. iOS 4.3.1 is the rumored iOS version which will bring us the different bug fixes although the main objective of the new firmware appears to be patching the iPad 2 jailbreak attempts.
Here’s what iOS 4.3.1 is going to offer:
• Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original)
• Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM file system
• Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
• Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2
• Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulnerability
iOS 4.3.1 should arrive at some point in the following weeks, although, if you’re interested in jailbreaking the iPad 2, you should definitely skip it and keep your tablet running iOS 4.3 until the jailbreakers give us more information on how to handle iPad 2 iOS updates.
We’re definitely not going to encourage you to jailbreak your newly purchased iOS tablet, since it’s up to you to decide what’s best for your iPad 2. But we’re certainly going to bring you more details on future iOS updates and new jailbreak methods in the coming weeks, so stick around, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our feed for more detailed information on iOS 4.3.1 and iPad 2 jailbreaks.
