iPad 2 Delayed in Czech Republic

iPad 2 Launch Being Pushed Back in Czech Republic Due to US Demand; Will it Be Delayed Elsewhere, Too?

Apple has already delayed the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan, due to the effects of the earthquake and tsunami. However, other markets are also experiencing delays, too.

While Apple has announced a March 25 release in other major markets, the online Apple store for the Czech Republic has had the date changed to April 25. It seems the delay is due to the high demand in the US market. In fact, US customers are experiencing almost a month’s delay, so it won’t be a surprise that other markets might also experience some backlog. Given this, it’s likely that Apple will give higher priority to the gadget-hungry US market.

The question is whether Apple will also delay launch in other markets like the UK, Australia, and the rest of the world. It has been speculated that Apple might face difficulty sourcing NAND flash chips for its devices due to Japanese factories having difficulty with supply as the situation in Japan normalizes.

(Note that “25 Dubna” in the image above means “25 April.”)
