Samsung Series 9 Notebook Now Available With $1,649 Price Tag
We saw Samsung reveal their ultra-portable MacBook Air competitor, the Series 9 back during CES and well, as of today we now have the final detail — the price. Yup, Samsung has officially priced the Series 9 notebook and as of today there is the option to place an order.

Well, technically speaking, place a pre-order. That said, and without further adieu, the Samsung Series 9 notebook is $1,649 (or $1,624 depending on which retailer you choose). Needless to say, it may be a bit more than some (ourselves included) were hoping for and/or expecting to see.
At present, the Samsung Series 9 notebook seems to be available for pre-order with DataVision and priced at $1,624.99 and with Beach Camera for $1,649. In addition, Beach Camera has it noted that the standard (7-9 business day) shipping is available for free.
Either way though, the notebook itself will be the same in terms of specs. And those specs read as follows;
- 13.3 inch LED HD display
- Intel Core i5 2537M processor
- Integrated Intel HD GT2 graphics
- 4GB DDR3 RAM
- 128GB SSD storage
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (WiDi capable)
- Bluetooth 3.0
- 6-cell battery
- Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Other specs include a 1.3 megapixel webcam and 3 watt stereo speaker (1.5 w x 2) HD audio as well as HDMI, three USB ports, Ethernet, headphone out, microphone in, microSD card slot, an 81 key keyboard with touchpad and a duralumin design. And lastly, the Samsung Series 9 notebook measures in at 12.9 x 8.9 x 0.62-0.64 inches and weighs in at 2.8 pounds.
In terms of when the Series 9 is going to start shipping, unfortunately (at present) neither site has an estimated date listed. All things considered, the Series 9 does appear to be a solid notebook in terms of specs and design, however we could not help but feel better if it were priced a bit cheaper. But maybe with some time we will see some lowering in that respect.
