John Carmack Prefers Xbox 360 Over PS3

id Software Co-Founder John Carmack Says PS3 Is Great, But Not As Good As Xbox 360

id Software’s John Carmack (otherwise known as one of the most important people in the gaming industry) has been quoted saying something that is sure to have fanboys raging like it’s 2007 all over again: in a interview in the latest issue of gamesTM, Carmack confesses a preference for the Xbox 360, even though he doesn’t actually think there’s anything wrong with the PS3.

“The PS3 is still far and away better than anything else that’s ever been made… except maybe the 360,” Carmack said in the interview. “t’s a great time to be a developer. It’s not like working with the Sega Saturn or the PS2, where these are really kind of quirky, cranky, architectures that are not, well, architected, I would say.” Carmack went on to say that even though he favors the 360, he doesn’t have anything bad to say about the PS3.

id Software’s new first-person shooter Rage is out for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac on September 13th in North America. Rage on, fanboys, rage on.
