Skype Unveils Qik Video Connect For iOS, Will Be Available Today
Skype has recently announced the latest in terms of iOS apps — Qik Video Connect which will allow those sporting an iOS 4 (or later) running device to share live video on Twitter or their Facebook page. Of course, that is just the first of a few interesting features.

Today at South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW) in Austin, TX, Qik, mobile video software recently acquired by Skype, launched a new iPhone app called Qik Video Connect. The new app enables individuals to stay connected with friends and family through video calling, video messaging, and video sharing.
First things first, the Qik Video Connect app is expected to come available in the iOS App Store as of today March 15th, however at present it has not yet appeared. That said, another perk of the app comes in with the social video feed which will send you an alert when your friend is sharing video. In other words, your friend begins to stream live, you get notified and then can watch all with just your iOS powered device.
In summary, the Qik Video Connect app will allow you to shoot and share live video, send video messages and make vide calls. And coming as one would have hoped, the Qik Video Connect app will work over 3G and/or Wi-Fi connections.
And lastly, the Qik Video Connect app will be available for free, however there will also be a Plus version which is going to be priced at $2.99. In terms of the Plus version, that will include additional features such as real-time effects, video editing and HD video quality.
