Samsung Infuse 4G Hits FCC
I like big phones. The bigger screen, the better. My female friends say I’m making up for something, but whatever the case, the Samsung Infuse 4G is a huge phone that Samsung and AT&T unveiled at CES this January. It’s an Android device with a huge 4.5-inch screen and a 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor.

Nothing really new came out of the FCC approval process, but it is carrying the AT&T GSM and 3G bands, as well as HSPA+ which AT&T is calling “4G” along with their eventual LTE network. The Infuse will be the final of the first three 4G phones that AT&T has announced along with the Motorola Atrix and HTC Inspire. For many people, the Samsung Infuse may be the most appealing because of the supersized screen, even though they all have the larger screens.
Here are the specs on the Infuse:
- 4.5-inch screen
- Android 2.2 (upgrades promised – it’s a Samsung phone on AT&T, take it for what you will)
- 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor
- 16GB memory
- 8MP camera
- 1080p video capture
- HSPA+ 4G
The Infuse, as you can see in the press images above, does include TouchWiz which is the UI that Samsung puts on all their Android devices. It’s generally horrendous and that alone may make you want to skip this one.
Does this phone appeal to you? Other blogs believe that this phone will be expensive, and I’ve some even suggest that the on-contract price of the Infuse could even be higher than the usual $200 we’ve come to expect.
