iPad 2 Jailbreak Successful Already, Not Public Yet

Comex Jailbreaks Verizon White iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G Running iOS 4.3; We’re Waiting for the Official Fix

Just a few minutes ago we told you that Sn0wbreeze will help you jailbreak your iOS 4.3 device (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch and iPad 1) and yesterday we found out that the iPad 2 was not going to be jailbreakable right out of the box as Apple has patched the existing exploits that make current jailbreak methods possible.

Now we hear (and see) that a white iPad is running Cydia, which means we’re looking at a second-generation tablet that has been jailbroken. It appears that Comex has already managed to jailbreak the device, and it seems that we’re looking at a Verizon iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G device. That means all iPad 2 versions, 3G and Wi-Fi, will be jailbreakable in the near future, just as soon as Comex and/or the iPhone Dev Team will launch a public client that will let the masses use the new tool. That means, among other things, that we will be able to enjoy FaceTime video calls over 3G on the iPad 2 in the near future.

We have no idea whether we’re looking at a new-found exploit that would bring back that jailbreak for life we currently can enjoy on all other existing iOS devices, or whether we’re looking at a userland hack. We also have no idea whether this is a tethered or untethered jailbreak, but we’ll take it one step at a time.

Naturally we don’t encourage you to jailbreak your iPad 2, or other iOS device, even if you’re entitled to do whatever you please to your purchased gadgets, and especially if your intentions are not honorable when it comes to jailbreaking your iOS device.

But we’ll be back with more iPad 2 news in the near future since all we have now is the image above, that proves the new tablet has already been jailbroken two days after launch. So keep close, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our feed for more iPad 2 jailbreak updates.

Your reasoning is terribly flawed. I have purchased all my apps even though my iPhone 4 is jailbroken. Reason? iBlackbook and MyWi and unlock. I bought my Ip4 on eBay for $650 and been using it out of state.

The MyWi have saved me countless times when the land line was out and I needed to get my laptop online for my business.

The iBlackbook have saved me from waking up in the middle of the night because of a damn text telling me I’ve won 10,000 dollars. Silent won’t work because I need to receive important calls and text for my business as well. Both of those are paid apps as well.

There are plenty of other enhancements that are not available on the App Stor. Not everyone who jailbreaks their device are used for pirating (as you probably are implying). If you actually take a look at the cydia store, there are plenty of neat enhancements for your iPhone. None of which are available on the Apple app store.

One I recommend is FakeClockUp. One of my favorite.
