Free Realms Coming To PS3 This Month

Sony Online Entertainment Bringing Free-To-Play MMO Free Realms To PS3 March 29

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that their free-to-play MMO Free Realms will release on the PS3 in just a few short weeks. The game is being brought to consoles in North America on March 29, and Sony Online Entertainment says that the PS3 version will stick with the PC version’s free-to-play business model.

Free Realms originally launched on PC in April of 2009, and SOE says that the game has nearly 17 million registered users just two years later. Most of the content in the PC version will appear on the PS3, with a new streamlined interface and support for voice chat.

SOE saw success earlier this year when they released DC Universe Online simultaneously on PS3 and Windows back in January. Free Realms is the second of four MMOs SOE is looking to bring to consoles this year, with other two being a new PlanetSide title, codenamed PlanetSide Next, and The Agency.
