Wondering Where To Buy iPad 2? We'll Tell You Where To Get The Hot Apple Tablet
Happy iPad 2 Day! Are you camping outside an Apple Store right now, reading this on your (soon to be put in the original box and back on the shelf) iPad 3G? Plenty of retailers are looking to compete for your dollars and gladly will sell you an iPad 2 today. But where? We’ll list some of the more popular stores out there.

Here are a few places that are selling the iPad 2:
- Apple Store/Apple.com – Duh. Apple hasn’t been accepting pre-orders for the iPad 2, though, so it may be hard to get one through these outlets. A bonus for the Apple Store is that they’ll set it up for you, if you want.
- Best Buy – All Best Buy stores and standalone Best Buy Mobile stores will start selling the iPad 2 at 5pm today. They’re expecting lines, as my colleague Chris told you about, as they’ll start handing out tickets to mark the line at 4:30pm today. In the event your Best Buy sells out, the store will let you put a $100 refundable deposit down on one and get a raincheck.
- Verizon Store - While Verizon sold an iPad 1 bundled with a MyFi device, the iPad 2 will natively support CDMA. They have the same price as everybody else, and their data plans start at $20/month for 1GB.
- AT&T Store – AT&T is screaming “Hey, I have the iPad too!” One advantage to going with this carrier is that if you’re still grandfathered into the unlimited month-to-month data plan from the first iPad, they’ll gladly let you transfer that over.
- Walmart – Yep, Wally World will be stocking the iPad. Keep this in mind if all your first choices will be out of the iPad.
I don’t have any proof to back this up, but I think we’re getting a more widespread release of the iPad 2 at the expense of pre-sales from Apple. Remember that at first Apple Stores and Apple.com were the only place you could get the iPad 1 at first, then eventually it started trickling out to other stores.
