Verizon & AT&T Confirm iPad 2 Pricing & Data Plans Ahead Of March 11th Launch
We just saw Apple announce the final details in terms of what time the iPad 2 would be on sale as of tomorrow and now we have the last minute confirmations coming from both Verizon Wireless and AT&T.

That said, Apple mentioned the iPad 2 would be on-sale in retail stores beginning at 5PM local time and Verizon and AT&T will indeed be matching that time. And coming with a slight disappointment in that we are not seeing any on-contract offers, both carriers have confirmed the prices.
The iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G will be $629.99, $729.99 and $829.99 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB model respectively. And for those wondering, that is the same price as the original iPad was selling for.
In terms of data plan pricing, we did previously see the AT&T announcement where they announced the post paid plans so some of this will be coming as a recap. With AT&T, customers can choose from;
- Monthly statements: $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB. Customers who exceed their monthly data allotment will be billed $14.99 for another 250MB on the $14.99 plan or $10 per 1 GB of overage on the 2 GB plan.
- Credit card billing: $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB. Customers who exceed their monthly data allotment may choose to purchase another 250 MB on the $14.99 plan or purchase an additional 2 GB for $25 on the 2 GB plan.
In addition, the Personal Hotspot feature will be available for AT&T customers with the $25 plan with the $20 per month tethering option. And lastly in terms of AT&T, those with the grandfathered unlimited data plan will be able to keep that plan if they purchase an iPad 2.
Moving on to Verizon and we find a few options contract free month-to-month plans including;
- 1GB per month for $20
- 3GB per month for $35
- 5GB per month for $50
- 10GB per month for $80
And again, similar as direct with Apple, the iPad 2 will be available with AT&T for online sales beginning at 1AM PST (4AM EST). It seems Verizon has decided to (at least initially) sit out on the online orders.
