LA Noire Pre-Order Bonuses To Be Sold To Regular People Later On

Pre-order bonuses are well and fine, but the fact that sometimes it’s impossible to get that content later on if you didn’t pre-order at the right spot is really grating for some. Thankfully, Rockstar Games knows what we’re going through. Rockstar confirmed to media that all DLC content for LA Noire, even if it was bundled as a retailer-exclusive pre-order bonus, will be up for sale to regular folks to purchase later on.

Retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses have become extremely common in the video game space, in case you haven’t noticed, mainly because all retailers are selling the same game for $59.99 and they want something- anything to differentiate themselves from the store down the street. But, Rockstar has confirmed that all pre-order content will be sold as DLC a certain point after the game’s release. And, the rep even told media that they’ve planned to do this for all pre-order items.

The pre-order bonus we’re talking about is the “Naked City” DLC, which is a bonus vice investigation for the main character in the game. It’s a GameStop pre-order exclusive, so pre-order there if you want it for free, I guess. The story here for Naked City is that a beautiful fashion model has committed suicide. Or, as our own Eric Abent put it: “I don’t claim to be a detective or anything, but something – let’s call it intuition – tells me that model didn’t commit suicide.” Very astute, Eric. The plot of Naked City seems to be based on the story of Marilyn Monroe, or at least inspired by her. I guess we’ll have to see.

LA Noire comes out on May 17th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
