Windows 8 Tablets to Debut in June
Microsoft’s fiscal year is ending in June, and they want to do it with a blast. Microsoft is upping the ante in the tablet game. According to sources, Microsoft is planning to produce Windows 8 demo tablets by June 2011.

Sources say that a new tablet platform–Windows 8–will be showcased by the company by middle of 2011. The Windows 8 platform is said to use a new interface, called “Metro,” which was initially developed for Windows Phone 7. That interface was actually developed initially for Windows XP Media Center back in 2004, but refinements were made to make it more appropriate for touch-screens rather than via remote control.
The June target is actually an estimate based on Microsoft’s usual marketing roadmap for mobile devices. Microsoft is said to have passed “Milestone 2″ for its Windows 8 platform, and June is the most appropriate time for “Milestone 3,” which means product demos to developers and media.
Microsoft, of course, hasn’t commented on the matter, although other leaks say that Dell is also developing a Windows 8 based tablet codenamed “Peju.” Windows 8 tablets are said to be launched to consumers by 2012.
